Design Details

The USM Haller System
The USM Haller modular system was born from a collaboration between Swiss architect Fritz Haller and USM founder Paul Schärer. Tasked with designing a new factory building for USM in Münsingen, Switzerland, they developed a flexible construction system based on a modular grid of steel tubes and patented ball connectors. The system proved so successful that it was adapted for furniture – and the USM Haller collection was born.

White Finish with Chrome Frame
The crisp white steel panels and polished chrome-plated tubular frame create a clean, timeless aesthetic that works effortlessly in any interior – from mid-century modern to contemporary.

Open Shelving Configuration
The unit features generous open shelving, perfect for displaying books, collectibles, records, or decorative objects.

Drop-Down Door with Coin-Twist Lock
One drop-down door provides concealed storage for items you prefer to keep out of sight. The signature coin-twist lock – operated with a simple twist of a coin – adds a unique functional detail true to the USM legacy.

Compact Tall Footprint
Measuring 31 inches wide, 15 inches deep, and 71 inches tall, this bookshelf fits perfectly in tight spaces while offering substantial vertical storage. Its tall, slim profile makes it ideal for living rooms, offices, libraries, or creative studios.

Excellent Vintage Condition
This unit is in excellent vintage condition, with beautifully preserved original panels and frame. Fully operational and ready for immediate use.

Made in Switzerland
Crafted in Switzerland, this USM Haller bookshelf reflects the exceptional manufacturing standards associated with Swiss precision and quality.
